Different Keys

People are getting very confused by different keys, all being marketed, as 'Genuine / New / NKS / Official / Easyturn / Blue Heart / Radar / Etc'

The simple truth is that:-

Small Headed vs. Large Headed Keys

Both keys work all the locks and are the same price.
Able fingered people often choose the small headed keys.
Our large headed keys are the widest ones made and give grip and leverage advantages to people who can benefit from this.

Different Key Schemes

In the U.K. there is only one 'National Key System' (NKS) for accessible toilets.

If you want your key to reliably work, please ignore the colourful but inferior Chinese keys.

In Eire, The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) promote their system and the IWA key which is also available on this website.

In Europe, the Euro WC key is available from Club Behinderter und ihrer Freunde. It works mainly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In Australia, there are 250 toilets which can be opened by the AUS Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAC).

Why Buy A Genuine R.A.D.A.R. Key Co. NKS Key?

A money-back guarantee is useless to a disabled person who find that they can't use the only accessible toilet, when they need it.

There have been attempts to copy Radar keys but (unlike the Radar padlocks), the Radar toilet locks have very close tolerances, which demand especially accurate keys, if they are to reliably work in every one of the 10,000+ locks. A pirate key may work some locks or none. Our keys have extra machining operations, are more accurately cut, more reliably made and every single one individually tested by a master locksmith. THEY RELIABLY WORK!!

In addition, the ergonomically designed head enables better grip and leverage, plus the two enlarged keyring holes allow the user to individually tailor the extra leverage which they can get from their other keys and keyring.

If Your Key Does Not Work:-

1) LOOK AT THE KEY

Does it say RADAR NKS or R.A.D.A.R. Key Company? If not, then the most likely reason that it doesn't work is that you have an inferior, pirated copy.

Sometimes the small prong in the middle of the working part of the key has been bent so that it is not completely symmetrical. Bend it straight again.

2) READ THE SIGNS ON THE TOILET

Some toilets do not use the Radar lock.

Some toilets are left unlocked.

Some venues use their own individual key.

Some toilets are locked with a second lock out of hours, or out of season.

Some toilets are permanently locked due to budgetary restraints

3) SEE IF SOMEONE ELSE'S KEY WILL WORK

Some locks are worn out or faulty.

4) IF YOU STILL HAVE NO SUCCESS...

If you send us a picture of your key to sales@radarkey.org with details of where it would not work, we will try and sort it out for you.
